Common Problems We Help With

When tightness keeps coming back, your body may be protecting something.

Many clients come in after trying manual treatment, stretching, rest, or exercises, only to feel the same tightness and pain return again. This often happens when certain muscles are not contributing properly, and the body starts using compensation patterns to get through daily life or training.

Neck & Shoulder Tightness

Recurring neck and shoulder tension may be connected to poor shoulder, rib cage, or scapular control.

Lower Back Pain

Low back tightness often relates to poor hip function, limited trunk control, or compensation during movement.

Knee Pain

Knee pain during squats, stairs, running, or skiing may involve hip, ankle, or foot control issues.

Sports Injuries

Gym, tennis, ski, running, swimming, and training-related injuries often need more than local pain relief.

Chronic Tightness

Stretching may only help temporarily if your tight muscles are overworking to protect unstable areas.

Movement Restrictions

If your body feels stiff, uneven, weak, or unstable, the issue may be related to how your muscles coordinate.

Why Pain Returns

We look beyond the painful area.

The painful area is often not the full story. A tight neck may be connected to shoulder function. Low back pain may be connected to hip control. Knee pain may be connected to the ankle, foot, or pelvis.

XFORM focuses on finding the movement and muscle function problems behind the pain, then helping the body restore better control.

1. Assess movement restrictions
2. Test muscle function
3. Activate underworking muscles
4. Reassess movement and symptoms
What To Expect

Your session is built around assessment, treatment, and retesting.

Treatment may include range of motion assessment, manual muscle testing, muscle activation, hands-on treatment, movement re-education, and simple home exercises to help maintain the improvement.

01. Movement Assessment

We check how your body moves, where it feels restricted, and which movements reproduce symptoms.

02. Muscle Function Testing

We identify muscles that may not be contributing properly to stability, control, or force production.

03. Activation & Treatment

We use targeted manual work and activation techniques to help restore better function and movement control.

FAQ

Is this regular manual treatment?

No. Sessions may include hands-on treatment, but the focus is also on assessment, muscle function, compensation patterns, and movement restoration.

Can I use insurance?

Sessions are provided by an Ontario Movement Rehab Specialist, and Insurance receipts are available where applicable. Please check your plan for coverage details.

Do I need to stop training?
